After 10 years of playing in Santiago’s cumbia-punk underground, Chico Trujillo grew to become the most important band in Chile, and perhaps the best cumbia band on the planet. As they approach their 25th anniversary, their music has transcended from when they were the forerunners of the “New Chilean Cumbia” movement in the 2000s, to being considered one of the originators of a cumbia movement that has now swept the globe.
